Charlie Sheen is in talks with Brett Ratner to reprise his role as TV newsman James Russell in a sequel to Money Talks, the 1997 comedy that helped Chris Tucker skyrocket to stardom.
Tucker is set to earn close to $20 million to reprise his role as crook Franklin Hatchett. Heather Locklear, who played Grace Cipriani, Sheen’s love interest in the original, may also return.
The sequel has been in active development at New Line for a couple of years now, but both Sheen and Chris Tucker have only just started showing interest. Due to the fact that Rush Hour 3, also starring Tucker and set to be directed by Ratner, is taking considerable time to get going, chances are Money Talks 2 may get underway first.
