Martin Short To Appear On L&O:SVU

Former SCTV star Martin Short will take a dramatically different role when he guest stars on this Tuesday’s (March 8) episode of “Law and Order: SVU.”

In the episode, titled “Pure,” Short plays psychic Sebastian Ballentine. When Detectives Stabler (Chris Meloni) and Benson (Mariska Hargitay) search for a missing 18-year-old girl, Ballentine offers his assistance in the case. But does the devious clairvoyant know more than he’s saying? Since this is “SVU,” yes, he probably does.

Short, who won an Emmy back in 1983 as part of the writing team on “SCTV,” is no stranger to NBC productions, having co-starred in the network’s adaptations of “Merlin” — for which he received an Emmy nomination — and “Alice in Wonderland.” He also put in time on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.”

Short was last seen guest starring on FOX’s “Arrested Development.”
