The final 12 is set, and already speculation is building as to who will become the newest American Idol. Antigua-based Internet sports betting site Intertops.com has picked Anwar Robinson as the favorite, with three men given the lowest odds.

Anwar, a 25-year-old music teacher from New Jersey, closed Monday night’s show well with his version of “What a Wonderful World” and has 5/2 odds from InterTops. Bo Bice is second with 3/1 odds, followed by the 7/2 odds for New York City’s Mario Vazquez.

“If music is the food of love, then at Intertops.com we are hungry for Anwar!” stated Intertops.com Chief Operations Officer Michael Maerz. “He has true idol potential in his voice, stage presence and personality. But it is the American public who will decide who they want to see on that pedestal… billboard… CD cover… TV program …”

Two weeks ago, Intertops’ rival BetWWTS.com installed Oklahoma singer Carrie Underwood as the favorite, but apparently things have changed. Carrie has 11/2 odds, which makes her the second pick among the “Idol” women after Nadia Turner, given 9/2 odds.

With the men dominating the favorites, it’s little surprise that the furtherst longshots are both women. Intertops had trouble spelling “Lindsay” Cardinale’s name, offering only 40/1 odds on the Louisiana native. Las Vegas resident Mikalah Gordon is next with 30/1 odds.
