Dakuwaka Productions Giving Readers A Chance To See Their Work Published In The Pages Of Helios
March 17, 2005, Somerdale, NJ – Dakuwaka Productions is giving something back to its loyal readers through its “Helios Fan Art Contest.” Readers are encouraged to send drawings of their favorite characters with a chance to win prizes for those drawings deemed the best by the panel of judges. The judges are the series creative team of Mike Penny, Jason Rand and Gabe Pena.
One lucky First Prize winner will see their work published on a full page in the upcoming Helios #4. This person will also receive a copy of the Helios Limited Edition Preview #1 signed by the creative team of Mike Penny, Jason Rand and Gabe Pena, a piece of original art from Helios #1, a Helios/Dakuwaka t-shirt and mini-posters featuring the artwork from the covers to issues #2-#5.

“I’m really excited to see the quality of entries we receive and which characters the fans select to draw,” said Dakuwaka Productions president and Helios co-creator Mike Penny. “There are plenty of talented fans out there that I believe will take the time to draw their favorites from the series. Our hope is that having the winning piece published in our book will help someone land a job in the industry.”

Electronic entries can be sent any size, but a 300dpi version must be available in order to be printed within the pages of the comic. The contest deadline is April 15.
