NCAA Basketball Beaten Again

CBS is suffering from a little March madness of their own as NBC beat them in the ratings once again last night.

The NBC won the night with a 7.0 rating/12 share compared to CBS’ 6.4/11. ABC came in a distant third with a 4.4/8, followed by FOX, 2.7/5; The WB, 1.6/3, and UPN, 1.3/2.

“Dateline NBC” started things off well for NBC at 8 p.m. with a 7.2/13. CBS was in its second hour of basketball while ABC managed a 4.0/7 for the hour with 2 episodes of “8 Simple Rules.” FOX had back-to-back episodes of “The Bernie Mac Show,” 2.8/5, and The WB did likewise with “What I Like About You,” 1.3/2. “Star Trek: Enterprise” got a 1.1/2 for UPN.

CBS had the highest numbers at 9 p.m., averaging a 7.1/12, beating NBC’s “Medical Investigation,” 5.9/10. ABC went with “Hope & Faith,” 4.0/7, and “Less Than Perfect,” 3.8/6. FOX had back-to-back episodes “That ’70s Show,” at 2.6/5. The WB did well with “Reba,” 2.1/4, and “Blue Collar TV,” 1.9/4, while UPN aired a repeat of “America’s Next Top Model,” 1.5/3.

NBC assumed the lead at 10 p.m. with “Law & Order: Trial by Jury,” 7.9/14, with CBS slipping to second. ABC stayed third with “20/20” taking a 5.2/9.
