CBS Scores With NCAA Basketball

CBS captured Saturday’s highest numbers on the strength of its basketball coverage, scoring a 6.9 rating/12 share. NBC was the closest with a 5.1/9, followed by ABC, 4.6/8, and FOX, 4.5/8.

The NCAA got CBS into the lead with a 6.4/12, while FOX was second with two episodes of “Cops,” 4.5/8. ABC offered the old standard “The 10 Commandments” and NBC aired a repeat of “LAX,” 3.1/6.

Basketball kept CBS on top at 9 while NBC made a move to second place with “Law & Order: SVU,” 6.0/10. ABC remained in third and FOX fell to fourth with “America’s Most Wanted,” 4.5/8.

At 10 p.m., “48 Hours Mystery” used its solid lead-in to maintain first for CBS at 7.8/14, while NBC stayed a solid second with “Law & Order: Criminal Intent,” 6.7/12. ABC held down third at 4.9/9.
