M. Night Shyamalan has already made some casting choices for Lady in the Water, his next picture which will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.

The film’s plotline will tell the story of a building superintendent who discovers a female nymph in the swimming pool of his building. For the nymph, Shyamalan wants Bryce Dallas Howard (The Village), and for the superintendent Shyamalan wants Paul Giamatti (Sideways).

Jessica Biel and Rufus Sewell will join Edward Norton and Paul Giamatti in The Illusionist which will be written and directed by Neil Burger, according to The Hollywood Reporter

Burger’s adaptation of the Steven Millhauser short story Eisenheim the Illusionist is set in 1900 Vienna. In it, a streetwise magician (Norton) uses his dark arts to win Princess Sophie (Biel) away from Crown Prince Leopold (Sewell).

Gong Li will join Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx in Miami Vice for Universal Pictures and director Michael Mann. Farrell and Foxx are respectively starring as Detectives Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs in the film version of the 1980s NBC series.

Mann, who executive produced the TV show, is writing, directing and producing the feature. The actress will play Isabella, the Chinese-Cuban wife of the leader of a transnational crime syndicate and Crockett’s love interest.
