Comedy Central’s main attraction recently took home a Peadbody Award for its election coverage.

“The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” was awarded the honor for its “Indecision 2004” campaign reports, which judges called “the kind of cathartic satire that deflates pomposity on an equal opportunity basis.” The show previously won a peabody for its 2000 election coverage.

The George Foster Peabody awards are given for broadcasting excellence in both news and entertainment. Awarded by the University of Georgia, 32 prizes will be handed out May 16 in New York.

Awards were also given to HBO for “Deadwood,” and two BBC series.
