PITTSBURGH COMICON – APRIL 22, 23, 24, 2005

The Pittsburgh Comicon opens its doors for its 12th year, April 22-24, 2005 at the Pittsburgh Expomart, Monroeville, PA. The show features the best comics and media guests and the Comicon offers plenty of one-of-a-kind events to entertain fans. The show is headlined by such comic book luminaries as: George Perez, Jimmy Palmiotti, Joe Linsner, Terry Moore, Mark Texeira, Billy Tucci, David Mack, Howard Porter, Ron Frenz, Scott McDaniel, Ron Garney and comic legend, Sal Buscema.

Comicon media guests for 2005 include such television and movie stars as: Ernie Hudson from Ghostbusters/Oz and Margot Kidder of Superman and Amityville Horror fame. Also attending the Pittsburgh Comicon are: from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the cheerleading movie Bring It On, Clare (Glory) Kramer; from the series Angel, Mark (Groosalugg) Lutz; Babylon 5 star, Jason Carter; Star Wars Guest, Mary Oyaya (Jedi Knight-Luminara Unduli); Anime filmmakers from ADV films, Matt Greenfield and Tiffany Grant; and various guests from the Pittsburgh Classic, Dawn of the Dead. Dreamworks Animation will also be previewing its 2005 animation slate, including Madagascar and Wallace & Gromit.

The Pittsburgh Comicon is well known for its one-of-a-kind events, including the CBLDF Quick Sketch, Charity Casino Night and its GIANT Charity Auction. Over the years the Comicon has raised over $190,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation through it various fundraising efforts. New events in 2005 include: Tea Time with Terry Moore, a Spider-Girl Fan Appreciation Panel hosted by the entire creative crew of Spider-Girl and a 25th Anniversary the New Teen Titans Celebration with series artist, George Perez.

The Comicon also hosts an array of Gaming and Video Game Tournaments, as well as a 24 hour movie and anime room and of course, the Comicon has the most important thing to a comic convention, COMICS. Set up at the show will be some of the best comic and toy retailers in the business.
