Archive

Bren thinks Alex will get fired, whereas Kendra thinks it will be Angie. Tana wants to know why Chris keeps sliding through.

They’re all shocked that Chris has survived along with Alex.

Chris says he needs to be Project Manager and have a really good showing.

Next morning, they get the call. Meet The Don in front of the NYSE.

The Don is meeting with GM execs. The man is a master schmoozer.

The Don tells Alex and Chris to pick someone to join Net Worth. They choose Bren. He looks less than thrilled.

The task: create a new brochure for GM’s new car, the Solstice. The Don notes that his new Apprentice will get one of these cars. Best brochure wins the task.

MAGNA

Kendra notes that part of her job has been creating press kits, so she wants to be Project Manager. She tosses out some ideas, all of which Tana and Craig shoot down.

NET WORTH

Bren’s excited to be partnered with Alex and Chris. He notes that it’s 3 guys against one dude and a couple of chicks.

MAGNA

They go meet with the ad execs about the car.

Kendra says the brochure will be about a love affair with a car. Craig wants to know what the theme will be. He thinks Kendra doesn’t always get it.

“Pulling All Nighters”

The Don says he’s seen people go 48 hours at a time without sleep to get a deal done, and if you don’t have the stamina to get a deal done, you better find a new line of work.

MAGNA

They head to the studio to begin shooting.

Kendra leaves Craig in charge of the studio.

The photographers ask Craig what he wants shot, but Kendra overrides him. Craig thinks if Kendra wanted to run the shoot she should have stayed.

NET WORTH

The car blows the guys away. They think getting shots of the interior is really important.

Chris puts Bren in charge of the brochure text because he’s so well spoken.

MAGNA

Kendra asks passersby for their opinions of the car as they are shooting outside.

NET WORTH

They are getting some nighttime shots. Alex is shooting inside.

Alex fails to get any shots of the car by itself or of the interior.

Chris is rather disappointed in Alex.

NET WORTH

The guys begin assembling the photos. They only have one interior shot. Bren is pissed.

MAGNA

They are working on the pictures. Craig thinks someone should be working on the text, but Kendra says they need to focus on the pictures.

Craig leaves the room and Kendra follows him. Craig is frustrated that there isn’t a theme. Kendra says that there is a theme, but Craig just doesn’t listen.

NET WORTH

They begin pulling an all-nighter to work on the text. Chris predicts that Tana and Craig can’t make it all night.

MAGNA

Tana says her ass is exempt and she doesn’t need to stay up all night.

She and Craig tell Kendra it’s time for bed. Tana tells Kendra that they would feel more comfortable with some proof of Kendra’s magazine experience. She thanks them for their honesty and says she’s extremely offended.

Kendra heads back to work on the brochure while Tana and Craig go back to the suite and bed.

Kendra pulls an all-nighter, as does all of Net Worth, although Alex does pass out near the end.

Kendra says her team fell apart on her. She created a kick-ass brochure all by herself.

Kendra wakes Tana up and tells her she finished the brochure. Tana congratulates her, and then rolls back over and goes to sleep.

Net Worth goes to the ad agency to see the final brochure. Alex thinks the text is boring but the rest of the guys are excited.

Kendra shows Craig and Tana the brochure. They’re excited about it. Craig thinks they all did a good job. Kendra’s miffed that Tana and Craig are going to get partial credit for the brochure.

Magna goes to present it to GM. Before Kendra can open her mouth, Tana starts speaking as if she was the Project Manager. Kendra finally gets some words in edgewise.

Net Worth makes their presentation. Alex says Chris isn’t much of a public speaker and makes up words. The GM execs aren’t too impressed with the blurred shot.

The Don arrives and calls in the teams. The GM execs say that Net Worth gave a lot of information but not enough emotion, while Magna nailed it on the head. They like it so much they are going to use it for their full campaign. Magna wins! Their reward is going to meet the Knicks. The Don says the only slam dunk Net Worth’s going to see is when one of them gets fired.

Chris, Alex, and Bren go out on the town. Chris is at a loss as to why he has lost seven times in a row.

Magna go and meet the Knicks. Tana is very hyped. Isaiah Thomas talks The Don into shooting a free throw. Nothing but net!

Magna runs some drills with the players. Isaiah tries to get them to work as a team with little success. He has them do wind sprints, and Kendra smokes Craig and Tana. Kendra says she’s been content in the past to hang back, but now’s her time to shine as a superstar.

Alex is packing his bags.

Bren was honored to have been chosen to be on the team, and had hoped to bring them out of the hole, but it wasn’t to be.

Alex and Bren wish each other luck, as Chris can’t figure out why he keeps losing.

BOARDROOM

The Don struts into the boardroom. He asks Bren how it felt to be saddled with a couple of losers like Chris and Alex.

Bren says they were not creative with their brochure. The Don says they made a bad brochure. He hates their blurry picture. Alex says he and Chris picked that picture because it conveyed speed.

Bren says Alex and Chris failed to get a picture of the logo inside. That should have been a slam dunk.

The Don asks them what they thought of the car. They all say they were amazed. Caroline says they should have incorporated their feelings into the brochure.

Alex says the brochure’s text was piss poor. Bren says if Alex thought it was bad why did he wait until now to say something? The Don agrees the writing was bad. George asks Alex if he had issues with the writing why didn’t he say something, and Alex says he had taken a nap. The Don, George, and Caroline tag team ripping on Alex.

George asks Chris why they failed, and Chris says it was the writing. Bren thanks Chris for his support. The Don looks at Chris and notes that this marks seven straight times he’s been in the boardroom. Chris says that every task they performed he was convinced they would win.

The Don asks George whom he would fire. George thinks hard, and finally says he would fire Chris. The Don asks Caroline, and she says seven losses in a row is impossible to ignore, so she would fire Chris.

The Don looks at Bren and says his writing was atrocious. He looks at Alex and says that falling asleep was inexcusable. He looks at Chris and says that seven losses in a row was just too much. “You’re fired.”

Chris gets up to leave. He is fighting back tears. The Don tells Chris to stay behind for a second. Chris comes over to The Don’s chair. The Don says Chris needs to remember two things. He needs to work on his temper, and he needs to make sure he stays off the tobacco. Chris says he will. The Don shakes his hand and Chris leaves. He hugs Alex and Bren as they head up to the suite and he heads to the taxi.

The Don says that Chris really is a good kid. Caroline and George agree. The Don says Chris will be a success, but it was just his time to go.
