The Rock has just joined the cast of Southland Tales, a new science-fiction thriller starring Sarah Michelle Gellar and Seann William Scott.
The film, an ensemble piece set in Los Angeles on July 4, 2008, as it stands on the brink of social, economic and environmental disaster. The Rock will take on the role of Boxer Santaros, an action star stricken with amnesia who crosses paths with Krysta Now (Gellar), an adult film star developing her own reality television project, and David Clark (Scott), a Hermosa Beach police officer who holds the key to a vast conspiracy.
“The film is going to be a strange hybrid of the sensibilities of Andy Warhol and Philip K. Dick,” Director Richard Kelly said in a statement.
Also, Moby will be doing the music for the movie. Filming is set to begin August 1st.
