On Wednesday the A&E Network announced its 2005-2006 slate of original movies and series that are in development. They include a movie that re-creates the events on board United Airlines Flight 93 on Sept. 11.

The film titled, “Flight 93”, will use transcripts from the day that flight crashed in Somerset County, Pa. It will tell in real time the story of the passengers who prevented the terrorist hijackers from using the plane as a weapon.

“This is really intended to be a very honest tribute to what by all accounts was an act of pretty incredible heroism,” A&E executive vp programing Robert DeBitetto said. “It’s a very moving and emotional story that we feel should be told.”
