TNA Lockdown Review

Since I did not report on this PPV, I will do the quick Lockdown Review. If you would like to read a detailed report you can click here for Kurtis’ Report.

*Sonny Siaki & Apolo defeated Lance Hoyt & Chris Candido: The Naturals along with Candido attacked Hoyt ater the match which will most likely turn him face, Yipee
*Dustin Rhodes defeated Bobby Roode: This was turned into a 2/3 falls match. Thankfully only the final fall was under the hood, or else this coulda been a real bad train wreck
*Shocker defeated Chris Sabin, Sonjay Dutt, & Michael Shane: Good match here, kinda a shocker that Shocker won. Haha. I expected Sabin
*Jeff Hardy defeated Raven: No shocker here, Raven always jobs the big feud
*America’s Most Wanted defeated Team Canada: I hate how TNA is booking Team Canada. Young has done nothing for a month or so now yet he gets to be Williams partner and not Ralphz, who has been teaming with Petey. Stupid booking
*Christopher Daniels defeated Elix Skipper: Good job, didn’t top the tag match but that was pretty tough to top. I still think Ultimate X in a Cage will happen
*Sean Waltman, Diamond Dallas Page & ??? defeated Jeff Jarrett, Monty Brown, & The Outlaw: BG James was the big surprise partner. No big surpise. I’m going to rip this match a new one this entire column
*AJ Styles defeated Abyss: AJ always delivers and this match was no different. Everyone expected AJ to win, and he did

Ok I told you I would rip the 6 Man Match to pieces so here goes:

Lets start with the “Big Surprise” it was no surprise that BG James was the surprise. Does BG James make sense in storyline terms? Of course he does. But this was TNAs big shot to bring in someone from the outside to give the company a good lift.

Lets take a look at 5 workers TNA could have brought in

1. Sting: Sting has worked with TNA before, so bringing him in as the mystery person could have worked out. Who wouldn’t mark out if during the match the lights went out and when the came on Sting was in the middle of the ring? Being a huge Sting mark back in his WCW days, I know I would have.

2. Goldberg: Why not? Goldberg could come in, spear some people, jackhammer some people, and be the dominant force that he was in WCW. Has Goldberg over stayed his welcome? Most likely. But if it was a 1 night thing, then it would still be a very nice moment

3. Rhyno: He was just released by the WWE so bringing him in this quickly could be a good thing. The people who don’t use the internet would be pretty shocked considering they just saw Rhyno on Heat the other week. He could Gore Monty Brown, setting up their feud

4. Scott Hall: I know, he can’t wrestle, he’s a drunk, and he’s a druggie but so is Jeff Hardy and he’s winning feuds. Hall would be a good fit because it’s an Outsider taking the place of an Outsider. Plus the last time we saw Hall, Jeff Jarrett had just hit him by accident. Revenge?

5. The Rock: Thats right, The Rock. Imagine the match being at a Heels dominate Face dull point. Then all of a sudden “IF YA SMELLLLLLL” Man, you know you would go crazy. The Rock could run down the aisle, get into the ring, and start laying the smack down. I would order the replay just to see that

Please note that those picks are based on Storylines. If I had a choice, I would have picked indy guys like CM Punk or Alex Shelley. But those guys wouldn’t seem to fit in the “over-stayed workers” storyline

Next, the ending to the match. What was the ending? Waltman rolls up Monty Brown for the 3 count. You’re kidding me right? Peter Brady can beat Sean Waltman, but Monty Brown can’t? This is a sick joke. I know take a look at much better endings

*Diamond Dallas Page over Jeff Jarrett: This would show that DDP can in fact beat JJ. The only problem with this would be DDP would think he’s the #1 contender and he would think he’s better than AJ.

*Jeff Jarrett over Diamond Dallas Page: This shows that their stupid feud is once and for all over. JJ could continue to claim he’s the best cause he won and AJ can say he sucks

*Monty Brown over Diamond Dallas Page: This shows that Monty made the right choice by turning on DDP. This would also set up a feud between the two

*Diamond Dallas Page over Monty Brown: This shows that DDP can beat Monty. It also gets him a bit of revenge from the Monty turn. Still sets up a feud

*BG James over The Outlaw: This shows that BG didn’t care the The Outlaw was offering. It also proves that he’s loyal to 3LK

*The Outlaw over BG James: This shows that The Outlaw never needed BG. Sets up a feud as well
So you see, Waltman wasn’t used in any of the better finishes. Why? Becuase nobody that gets punked out by Peter Brady, should be taken serious.

The C-Cup

Since I’m not on my compuer, I don’t have e-mail access. Which is great for all you that didn’t send in your C-Cup answers from last week because you get another shot. I will e-mail the prediction winner and plug whatever he needs plugged next week. As for last weeks winners, because I can not plug what you sent me, I will plug it next week and I will also plug what you sent me on the blog. And if you would like anything else pluged I’m happy to do so since I am a nice guy and all.

As for this weeks questions:
*K-I-D Challenge: Same as last week. Come up with a new gimmick for Lance Hoyt, most original wins
*Hard Justice Gimmick: The other week I ran through complete gimmick PPVs based on the PPV name. Now come up with a all gimmick PPV based on the name “Hard Justice” I’m setting myself up for porn jokes I have a feeling

Ok, that’s all for this week. I wanted it to be longer as I have more ideas but again, not my computer so I gotta get goin. Drop me a line at AMPLine4Life@aol.com and join me next time, At Ringside.
