CBS did well with a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie Sunday, and “Family Guy” gave FOX some decent numbers, but they weren’t enough to overtake ABC.

ABC averaged a 10.7 rating/17 share for the night, beating the 9.5/15 for CBS. NBC took third in households at 6.0/10, although FOX, 5.3/9, had more overall viewers (9.31 million to 9.12 million for NBC). The WB was last with a 1.7/3.

CBS took the lead at 7 p.m. with “60 Minutes,” 7.9/14. The first half of a two-hour “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” managed a 5.6/10 for ABC, just topping NBC’s “Dateline,” 5.4/10. FOX was fourth with “King of the Hill,” 3.6/7, and “Malcolm in the Middle,” 4.0/7. The WB went with a rerun of “Charmed.”

“Cold Case,” 10.2/16, kept CBS in the lead at 8 p.m., though “Home Edition” closed in with a 9.5/15 for the hour. The 350th and 351st episodes of “The Simpsons” managed a 6.4/10 for FOX, sending NBC’s “The Contender” to fourth. A new episode of “Charmed” scored a 2.3/4 for The WB.

As usual, ABC took over the lead at 9 p.m. with “Desperate Housewives,” at 15.8/23. CBS fell to second with the movie “Riding the Bus with My Sister,” 9.3/14. “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” managed a 7.3/11 for NBC. “Family Guy” returned with its first new episode in three years at 6.3/9 for FOX, although “American Dad,” 5.3/8, didn’t keep all of those viewers. “Steve Harvey’s Big Time” was in the basement for The WB.

“Grey’s Anatomy,” 11.7/19, kept ABC’s lead at 10 p.m. CBS’ movie improved to 10.4/17, and NBC’s “Crossing Jordan” came in third at 7.4/12.
