Samuel L. Jackson, who will be seen by millions as Jedi Mace Windu in the upcoming “Star Wars: Episode III,” is set to play another great warrior for Spike TV.

The “Pulp Fiction” star will lend his voice to the title character in an animated series called “Afro Samurai,” scheduled to start next year. The network also announced Tuesday (May 3) that it’s ordered two more seasons of its reality hit “The Ultimate Fighter.”

“Afro Samurai,” created by Japanese artist Takashi Okazaki, tells the story of Afro, a samurai in a “futuristic, yet feudal” Japan who’s on a mission to avenge his father’s death.

“With Samuel L. Jackson involved with this project combined with the talents of Gonzo … and featuring a funky, hip-hop soundtrack, this project was irresistible for us,” says Kevin Kay, head of development and production for Spike TV. “‘Afro Samurai’ is already generating a great buzz.”
