CBS Continues Thursday Domination

Thanks to two of its biggest shows, CBS is making Thursday ratings wins look routine.

The Eye network averaged a 13.3 rating/21 share in primetime, scoring a big win over NBC, 8.2/13. ABC was third overall with a 5.3/9, topping FOX, 4.7/7. UPN was fifth at 3.0/5, with The WB was last at 1.9/3.

“Survivor: Palau” outlasted the competition at 8 p.m., scoring an 11.7/20 for CBS. NBC took second with “Joey,” 5.2/8, and “Will & Grace,” 5.5/9. ABC’s movie “Sweet Home Alabama” took third, beating the first of two episodes of “The O.C.,” 4.6/7, on FOX. “WWE Smackdown!,” 2.9/5, was fifth for UPN, beating back-to-back episodes of “Blue Collar TV” on The WB.

CBS moved up to 15.8/25 at 9 p.m. thanks to “CSI.” NBC held second with “The Apprentice,” 8.7/13, and ABC’s movie remained in third with a 5.4/8. FOX’s second “O.C.” episode averaged 4.8/7. “Smackdown!” kept fifth for UPN.

At 10 p.m., “Without a Trace,” 12.3/20, beat out “ER,” 10.5/17, to keep CBS in front of NBC. ABC’s “Primetime Live” averaged 5.3/9 for third.
