“WWE ANNOUNCES TICKET PRICES FOR ECW ONE NIGHT STAND…WWE STANDS TO MAKE MAKE $6,000,000!

Last night, after I posted that WWE had posted ticket information without prices, WWE added ticket prices for ECW ONE NIGHT STAND to WWE.com. I have no doubt that these prices are based, at least in part, to Hardcore Homecoming selling out over 1,000 tickets and a total gate of over $100,000. I do know for a fact that ringside seats were going to be priced at $400 from day one.

Assuming 320 ringside seats at $400 each, 1,000 seats at $250 each and 1,500 seats at $150 each, this show should produce a gate of $603,000. Assume another $10 per seat for ECW merchandise sales (hats, shirts and posters)and that is $28,000. Then assume 350,000 pay-per-view buys (350,000 x $35 x 40%) or $4,900,000. Then, expect at least 100,000 units of the DVD to sell with WWE netting $5 per unit or $500,000. WWE stands to make approximately $6,000,000 from ECW ONE NIGHT STAND.

Coupled with the fact that WWE sold over 100,000 units of The Rise and Fall of ECW on DVD ($500,000), and another 50,000 pay-per-buys for The Rise and Fall of ECW on WWE Fanatic (50,000 x $10 x 40% = $200,000), WWE should earn a return of $6,700,000 on their $2,000,000 investment to buy the ECW license and ECW video library…and that does not include WWE 24/7, WWE.com Match Jukebox or any future ECW projects!

WWE always has been, and always will be, a masterful marketing company above all else and is proving that right now by continuing to be very profitable despite the fact that their live event business is in a “down cycle”. No other party could have purchased ECW and marketed it as successfully.”

– The Blue Meanie has also been booked for the show, which brings the possibility of a bWo reunion; Steven Richards and Nova are also scheduled.
