[WWE] House Shows to be Special; Rock, Piper, Austin Future Plans

Archive

– Roddy Piper and Steve Austin will both be hitting the road with WWE in off-TV roles. Austin will be acting as guest referee in upcoming Smackdown shows in Europe, while Piper will be in Chris Jericho’s corner when he faces Muhammed Hassan at the 5/27 RAW event in Tacoma, WA, and 5/29 show in Victoria, BC. WWE Hall of Famer Don Muraco will be in Shawn Michaels’ corner vs. Hassan on the 7/2 RAW house show in Honolulu.

– According to PWInsider.com, The Rock and Vince McMahon mended their fences at the post-WrestleMania party and are currently on good terms. The Rock has agreed to be associated with WEW and make appearances when his schedule allows, as he’s done in the past. No word on whether or not this will include in-ring appearances. WWE included a “Happy Birthday” graphic for The Rock on TV recently, as well as information on his recent film Be Cool on WWE.com, despite not having an official relationship with him. His bio and photo have been on WWE.com’s RAW Superstars page even throughout the lapsted contract.

– Romeo and Antonio — the Heart Throbs (Heartbreakers in OVW) — have been added to the RAW Superstars page on WWE.com.

– Tough Enough 3 winner (along with Johnny “Nitro” Hennigan) Matt Cappotelli will be joining the RAW roster on house shows beginning with this weekend’s tour, which touches base in his home town of Rochester. He was originally scheduled to join the SD brand back when Chavo was Cruiserweight Champion, posing an open challenge. Unfortunately, Bob Holly concussed Matt, and Chavo ended up dropping the belt to Jacqueline.
