CBS Wins Quiet Friday Night

A rerun of “CSI” Friday still beat the series finale of NBC’s “Third Watch” and helped CBS to a ratings win.

For the night, CBS averaged a 6.7 rating/12 share to top second-place NBC’s 5.8/11. ABC finished third at 4.5/8, followed by FOX at 2.9/5. UPN’s 1.9/3 just beat The WB’s 1.8/3 for fifth.

A repeat of “CSI: Miami” scored a 5.5/11 for CBS at 8 p.m. “Dateline,” 4.6/9, placed NBC second, while ABC took third with “America’s Funniest Home Videos,” 4.4/9. FOX went with the movie “Rush Hour 2” to take fourth. “Star Trek: Enterprise” managed a 2.0/4 for UPN, edging “What I Like About You” and a “Reba” rerun on The WB.

“CSI,” 7.1/12, kept CBS’ lead at 9 p.m. Meanwhile, “Third Watch” ended its six-year run on NBC with a 6.1/11. ABC remained in third with the season finale of “Hope & Faith,” 4.1/7. FOX’s movie managed a 3.2/6 in its second hour. “Reba,” 2.4/4, and “Living with Fran,” 1.8/3, got The WB into fifth, ahead of an “America’s Next Top Model” repeat on UPN.

CBS’ “Numb3rs,” 7.4/13, scored the night’s best rating at 10 p.m. “Law & Order: Trial by Jury” came in second with a 6.9/12 for NBC, and ABC’s “20/20”, 5.1/9, was third.
