The Intimates continues to be one of the freshest books out there, with an
original concept backed up by great writing and art.

In this issue, it’s the last day of school before summer vacation. The book jumps around to all the different events and subplots going on with all of the characters, while, of course, peppering each pages with the trademark “fun facts.” Maybe more than any other issue before it, this issue is full of character development, as we really get a window into what makes these kids tick. We get more insight into Empty Vee’s aspirations, Kefong’s coolness, Destra’s bitchiness (and forcefulness), and much more.

The art, as always, is a perfect complement to the story, and I can’t imagine this book being drawn differently.

Everyone, I urge you to check out this book. It’s a fascinating blend of superhero stuff, teenage stuff, great dialogue, lots of silliness (especially in the “fun facts”), and even some truly heart-wrenching stories. There really is nothing like it out there.
