CBS 'Survives' Another Thursday

NBC had its best Thursday performance in some time last night, but CBS still won the night handily.

CBS averaged a 13.3 rating/21 share in primetime, topping NBC’s 9.0/14. ABC was well back in third at 4.8/8, followed by FOX, 3.7/6, and UPN, 3.1/5. The WB was last with a 1.9/3.

“Survivor: Palau” scored an 11.6/19 at 8 p.m. to put CBS in the lead. The hour-long season finale of “Joey” managed a 5.9/10 for NBC, up only a little from recent performances. ABC took third with the movie “My Big Fat Greek Wedding,” which topped “The O.C.,” 4.3/7, on FOX. “WWE Smackdown!” was fifth for UPN, beating back-to-back episodes of “Blue Collar TV,” 2.0/3, on The WB.

“CSI,” 16.0/25, kept CBS’ lead at 9 p.m. “The Apprentice” was a solid second for NBC with a 9.7/15. ABC’s movie remained in third with a 4.8/7. “Smackdown!,” 3.3/5, moved up to fourth, beating the season finale of “The Simple Life 3” on FOX. The WB went with another two episodes of “Blue Collar TV.”

CBS completed its victory at 10 p.m. with “Without a Trace,” 12.2/20. NBC’s “ER,” 11.5/19, did enough to secure second. “Primetime Live” scored a 4.8/8 for ABC.
