Eric Anduri of Lafayette, CA has been charged in Saturday night’s incidient involving a beer thrown at Yankees DH Jason Giambi after an at-bat against the Oakland A’s.
Anduri reportedly spent Saturday night in jail and has been charged with public intoxication, battery and throwing an object on to the field of play.
Giambi has declined to press any additional charges against Anduri and has publicly praise the quick acting McAfee Coliseum security staff who removed Anduri from the stands almost immediately.
This is the third highly publicized run-in between fans and players at The Coliseum in Oakland. In 2003, Carl Everett was reportedly hit by a cell phone thrown from the upper deck. And last year a melee erupted between heckling fans and the Texas Rangers’ bullpen.
