FOX Dominates Another Tuesday

The second-to-last performance episode of “American Idol” gave FOX another easy ratings win Tuesday night.

Overall, FOX averaged a 12.7 rating/20 share, easily beating second place CBS’ 7.7/12. NBC did better than usual with a 7.1/11, followed by ABC’s 4.5/7. The WB’s 3.2/5 and UPN’s 2.2/3 trailed behind.

At 8 p.m., “American Idol” gave FOX the lead with a 14.5/24. CBS was second with a 6.3/10 for the first hour of the ACM Awards. ABC’s comedies “My Wife and Kids” and “George Lopez” were third, with NBC’s “Most Outrageous TV Moments” in fourth. The WB’s “Gilmore Girls” scored a 3.7/6 for its season finale, crushing “America’s Next Top Model” on UPN.

FOX held strong at 9 p.m. with the 10.9/17 for “House.” CBS’ country awards show improved to an 8.2/13 in its second hour. NBC got a 6.6/10 for a “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” rerun. ABC’s “George Lopez” and “According to Jim” finished fourth. The WB’s “One Tree Hill” held fifth, topping the 2.4/4 for the premiere of “Britney & Kevin: Chaotic.”

NBC won the 10 p.m. hour, as a new “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” posted a 10.9/18. CBS’ awards show was second, nearly doubling the 4.3/7 for ABC’s “Blind Justice.”
