[NFL] Winslow, Smith Expected to Miss All of '05

Several sources are reporting that Cleveland Browns tight end, Kellen Winslow, Jr. will miss the entire 2005 season with a torn ACL. The injury is believed to have resulted from Winslow’s high-profile motorcycle crash, which saw the outspoken Winslow hospitalized for nine days. The accident was a violation of his NFL contract, which forbids riding of motorcycles. It’s unclear what, if any, action the Browns will take against Winslow.

Meanwhile, Vikings running back Onterrio Smith has reportedly been suspended by the NFL for all of next season. He was recently caught at an airport with several items that are used to “beat” drug tests, including dried urine. The NFL, however, is believed to be taking action against Smith because he missed a scheduled drug test and this would be the third drug-related infraction in Smith’s career.
