DESPERADO PRIMER PAGE COUNT INCREASE IS BENEFIT OF DELAY

May 25, 2005, Atlanta, GA – As production moved slower than anticipated causing an unavoidable delay, Desperado Publishing decided to use the extra time to reward patient readers by upping the page count, adding in more content, and keeping the cover price the same on Desperado Primer, a title that offers readers a look into the quality and diversity they will come to expect from the publisher.

Originally scheduled to be released the end of December, Desperado Publishing’s Desperado Primer will now ship May 25 as a 40 page comic containing 25 pages of all new story and art by some of the comic industry’s biggest names. In adding these extra pages, the cover price will remain at $1.99.

Included in the Desperado Primer is the 8-page story “Round Eye” Prelude by Tony Harris, an 11-page All Star Jam Story written by Paul Jenkins and featuring art by Adam Hughes, Phil Hester, Brian Stelfreeze, Kelsey Shannon, Cully Hamner, Rob Prior and Jason Pearson, and a newly added 6-page story by Ron Marz and Brandon Peterson. The entire package is contained within a Brian Bolland cover.

“It pains me that what was to be our first release is shipping late,” said Desperado publisher Joe Pruett. “But I’m confident that with the quality of Desperado Primer and the extras we’re including, once people get this book into their hands, the delay will be easily forgotten. This book is well worth the $1.99 cover price simply as an intro to our company, but as a high-quality, top-notch comic book featuring amazing stories, it is worth a lot more.”
