NBC Strikes Deal With Court TV

Repeating a strategy it used a few summers ago, NBC will air a series from cable’s Court TV this summer.

The Peacock has picked up eight episodes of Court TV’s “Psychic Detectives,” which it will air as four hour-long shows. The series is scheduled to make its broadcast-TV debut at 8 p.m. ET Wednesday, June 8.

“Psychic Detectives,” currently in its third season, follows investigators and psychics who have contributed to the solving of cases that have stymied conventional methods of police detection.

NBC’s drama “Medium” covers similar ground in telling the story of Alison DuBois (Patricia Arquette, playing a character based on a real-life medium), who uses her abilities to help the Phoenix district attorney solve cases.

In the summer of 2002, NBC drew decent ratings airing episodes of Court TV’s “Forensic Files.”
