It is a little tough to look at this issue objectively, being that it’s a part of a larger story, which, in turn, is a smaller part of an even larger story. What we have here is the culmination of over two year’s worth of stories for these characters, beginning in Graduation Day. Actually, this really isn’t the culmination, rather it’s the beginning of the culmination. Do you know what I mean? If you do, then this comic is for you. If not, get back to it after you’ve done a bit of research.

This is also part 2 of a Teen Titans crossover. What the two books have in common is that one member of their respective teams have gone nuts and is now trying to kill the rest. Over in Titans, it’s Superboy. In Outsiders, it’s Indigo. And seeing as how she’s tried to kill our beloved heroes before, we honestly should have seen this coming.

But not only is starting a kick a$$ fight with the team, but she is now calling herself Brainac 8. Now whether you read the book on a regular basis or not, you know that’s bad. Her name ties into one of the best “holy $#!+!!!” endings I’ve read in a while.

The story itself here is pretty straightforward, as it’s mostly a fight between the Outsiders and B8. It’s not very complicated, and she pretty much wipes the floor with them.

The art really fits the story, D’Anda has a rough, murky look that I think totally suits this book. I don’t know if he is a fill in artist, or now the regular one, but I really hope he is back, because he brings a lot to the atmosphere of Outsiders.

This was a quick read, but well worth a look. I can’t wait to see where this story goes next.
