The Sunday HEAT Wave

Archive

Welcome to this weeks Sunday night HEAT. Hopefully everybody made it out of the post- holiday week with no scars and with their jobs still intact as we’re still all recuperating. But you know what they say, “No rest for the wicked” as we start things off fast.

Announcers for the night, Todd Grisham and The Coach.

We start off our show for the night with Maven who’s one part of the RAW ECW invasion team and begins to ramble on in how bad ECW was and how he needs to get down and dirty at the ECW “One Night Stand” show to make sure this mess is cleaned up properly. And invites any past ECW wrestler who’s backstage to a fight tonight, and who should answer the call but none other than….

Lance Storm vs. Maven
Match starts off with what I’m guessing is under “hardcore” rules. ECW start to make their way through the crowd as Storm does a few takedowns to begin and hangs him up in a hanging suplex for 2! Maven then gets on the offensive as he starts fight back from the pin over Storm. A few hard clubs to the back and delivers his own back suplex that gets 2! Maven immediately pulls up Storm to hit his own standing drop kick that he’s been perfecting as of late and starts to work on the neck of Storm. Double axe handle again hits Storm on the back who begins to fight with a few punches and downs Maven with two clotheslines and goes for a flying cross body that misses completely off the mark and sends him flying out of the ring. But as Maven begins to make his way out through the ropes, a chair shot comes out of nowhere that finally shows some ‘hardcore’ activity in this match and hits him from the out skirts as Lance Storm gets the cross body drop for the win!!
Winner: Lance Storm

Tommy Dreamer ECW Pay-per-view commercial. Nothing much but a few highlight videos of his ECW career.

William Regal vs. Sin (aka HEAT Jobber #1)
Regal takes the early advantage in the match with a few clotheslines to take Sin down. The usual hard hits and follow Regal in his move set. Hitting him with some uppercuts and hard knees to the chest and face. Sin tries to get a drop kick in, but Regal holds the ropes to avoid the move and goes for the cover to get a 2! Another few knee shots and direct punches abuse Sin into the corner. A back elbow drop follows with a huge suplex that falls heavily on Sin’s neck for another two count. More knee shots are brought up again and a running Knee Trembler nails Sin for the win. Pretty much a squash for Regal to get some face.
Winner: William Regal

Regal celebrates his win as we cut over to screens of last weeks RAW match of Benoit vs. Edge in a tables match. With Edge coming out victorious as Bischoff calls in Maven, Tomko and Sninsky to help put Benoit through the wood with a power bomb. And Bischoff announces his intentions and his RAW invasion team for the ECW PPV.

Tyson Tomko vs. Star (aka HEAT Jobber #2)
Part two of team RAW shows up in the form of Tyson, who is just completely dominating the match early, destroying Starr at every turn. Tossing him out of the ring and in as he mauls him with a few knees to the back. Just imagine someone kicking around a soccer ball at practice and you can picture this match. Little to no offense from Star begins to fire back but Tomko gets in a viscous big boot into the face and KO’s the second jobber of the night. This was just to help Tomko show he’s tough for his ECW part. Complete squash!! At least the Regal match was decent to provide some commentary. Dud….
Winner: Tyson Tomko

Video re-cap of RAW last week and the ‘return’ of the Animal Batista, which is a welcoming sight from the “Happy-go-lucky” Batista that was just crying to be taken out back and shot. Plus highlights of RAW tomorrow night as Chris Jericho will interview the first pick from tomorrow in the Highlight Reel! As well as the contract signing of the Hell in a Cell match for Batista vs. HHH III (Yawn).

“Oh testify!!!” Commercial for ECW’s “One Night Stand” with the Dudley Boyz lighting a few tables on fire.

250,000 RAW Diva Search Promo (another yawn…)

Simon Dean vs. Chris Jericho!!
Dean shows up in the ring and begins to trash talk the crowd over the no show of Hockey this season (don’t remind me, it’s very depressing) then 5… 4… 3… 2… 1… JERICHO!!! “Y2J” chants start as Dean pushes around Jericho who does the same and knocks him down. Nice back elbow take down from Jericho as he pushes him to the corner and slaps Dean around like the jobber Dean should be. A few ECW talks go on as Todd lets us know Chris was part of ECW in the past and wonders if he’s going to be part of the upcoming PPV. Spring board drop kick knocks Dean out of the ring and follows it up with a baseball slide that keeps Dean down! Well if you can’t tell, I’m big time Pro- Jericho!! Jericho is relentless as he pushes Simon back into the ring and continues his offense. Dean however manages to break out and move the momentum over to his side and takes a leg drop sweep take down that gets a 2! Dean moves over to the legs and puts on a surf board submission. No luck however as he moves over and begins to work over to the arms of Jericho. Chris finally breaks out and knees Dean over the temple and a shoulder block sends Dean down to the mat. Followed by a kick that knocks him up on the ropes giving Chris a chance to hit one of his special moves but instead goes and hits the eyes and tries to lock in the Walls of Jericho. Chris misses but nails the bulldog quickly in the next turn and tries the moonsault put hangs Dean over the top rope. And at last Jericho locks in the walls as Dean quickly taps out!!!
Winner: Chris Jericho!!

HEAT Wave of the Night: Just like last week, we got another busy show here on HEAT. However two out of the four matches were nothing more than a beat down for the respective wrestlers. Almost thought it was gonna be a jobber show with all the newbies showing up tonight. And a no show for Val this week, guess it was only coming as he actually showed up on RAW last week. But wasn’t missed much as we got a special appearance by “Y2J” himself! So the Wave of the night is not even a question as it goes to Chris Jericho alone!!! Hey so sue me, I feel like I got a special present or something covering a Jericho match. Best HEAT show for me yet! I’m out guys… don’t forget to catch RAW tomorrow as the Draft Lottery starts and make sure to bring it back over here to the Pulse for any extra coverage over the picks. Peace!
