WWE ByteThis! Report

Archive

We kick off ByteThis! tonight with Tommy Dreamer and Paul Heyman. The show starts and Heyman rips up his script saying that this is an ECW ByteThis! and ECW is not organized. He also mentions that the most downloaded ByteThis! was the last one featuring ECW.

He mentions that Eric Bischoff called earlier. They were going to have a live debate, but Eric declined. He instead left a voice message. They play the message and we hear Eric diss on ECW. He says it is a joke and that ECW did not create Steve Austin; WCW created Steve Austin. He states that ECW never sold out an arena. Their PPVs didn’t sell enough so they owed the PPV company money. He says McMahon made a mistake for funding them. He says ECW never has been or will be equal to WWE or WCW.

After this message Dreamer says Bischoff can “f*ck himself”. Heyman asks if he is allowed to say that and Dreamer replies that he doesn’t care. Paul Heyman contradicts what Bischoff says with statistics from ECW events. He admits that ECW was in debt 7 million dollars, but says WCW was in debt with 80 million dollars a year. Dreamer says Eric lied and that he remembers a main event of him versus Justin Credible that sold out. Heyman goes on to say that ECW stars were more passionate than WCW stars. Dreamer blatantly says “WCW Sucks!” He also mentions that he slept in his mini-van last night with Axl Rotten and Balls Mahoney. Heyman states that he never said ECW “made Steve Austin”. They supported him, but did not make him. Heyman then goes on to make a really good Stone Cold impersonation. Dreamer mentions that Bischoff let the top heel on RAW now slip through his fingers. He grabs a bottle of water and spits it like Triple H.

They change the subject and promote ECW One Night Stand. Dreamer says that the fans who go live will see things that will not be on the PPV or DVD. Heyman says that RVD will be getting six to ten minutes of un-edited, un-scripted, un-produced time to talk to the audience. They announce Bubba Ray Dudley will be on the phone next.

They show a clip of D-Von and Bubba giving Snitsky the 3-D through the table.

We come back and Bubba is on the phone. He says he made the greatest return. Heyman and he start arguing about them being the greatest tag team. Dreamer said that all of RAW was especially good and that he “marked out” when Cena got drafted. Bubba says the fan reaction was great and can’t wait to hear the ECW fans chant at One Night Stand. Dreamer comments that Bubba has been losing some weight. He and Bubba chant and say that though they are friends they will give it their all in their match at the PPV. Bubba says he likes Bischoff but doesn’t like him dissing ECW. Dudley says he and D-Von turned down Eric to go to WCW when they were in ECW. Dreamer says that a Nitro event that took place the same day of the Barely Legal PPV. Heyman says Bischoff has been on their ass since day one. Dreamer tells Bubba about him partying. Bubba says his goodbyes.

They talk about Shane Douglas and Hardcore Homecoming. Heyman says that he’ll be happy for him if he can give the ECW fans what they want. He says many people have tried to capatlize off of ECW and all of them have failed. Dreamer says he is happy for the wrestlers, but the indys are a depressing place. He and Paul agree that unless they book it isn’t authentic ECW.

They talk about The Rise & Fall of ECW DVD. They said it outsold the Ric Flair, Stone Cold, Hulk Hogan, The Rock, and Monday Night Wars DVD.

Steven Richards is on the phone. Stevie says he has been out on a knee injury that he got from Masters at a house show. Stevie says he’ll be in action soon. He doesn’t say what version of Stevie he will be at the PPV. He leaves with an “E-C-DUB!” chant.

Dreamer says that if the PPV does better than Wrestlemania 21 then Smackdown! or RAW might become ECW. Heyman thinks he’s aiming too high. Dreamer throws a water bottle at Heyman. He says if the PPV could one place other than New York City, it would have to Philadelphia. He goes on to say that one of his favorite moments was his Hardcore Title match against RVD on RAW.

A fan asks Heyman if he will wear a suit or sweat pants and a hat. Heyman says he likes his new appearance. Dreamer says he should wear the sweats. Heyman gets mad and throws the print-out e-mail question.

Dreamer at this point has been cussing quite a bit. He says he doesn’t care about the controversy. He says that he will give it his all at the PPV. He says when he had a broken heel he still wrestled. He didn’t care about paychecks. They mention Spike is hurt but will still be at the PPV. They say the PPV will be a thank you to the fans. They close the show with a video promoting One Night Stand.
