[TNA] Dusty no longer the DOA

News

Expect TNA to announce that Dusty Rhodes will be “stepping down” as the promotion’s storyline Director of Authority. This decision was made yesterday but there is belief that Dusty will be brought back in another role “when the time is right.” It is said that this was a cost cutting decision. Rhodes resigned as booker a couple of months ago and was replaced with a committee of Scott D’Amore, Jeremy Borash, and Bill Banks, and others. TNA was hoping to move Rhodes further away from the current booking committee with this decision.

A Rhodes representative claims that Dusty had left messages for Dixie Carter, to discuss offers outside of wrestling. Those messages were not returned. Dusty has no current comments about this situation but will likely comment on his website, www.DustyRhodesWrestling.com after Slammiversary this weekend. Rhodes didn’t want to take away from the wrestlers spotlight by discussing this situation.

TNA has announced that Larry Zbyszko will make an official announcement regarding this situation during Slammiversary’s pre-show this Sunday.
