The Sunday HEAT Wave

Archive

Hey guys welcome to another edition of The Sunday HEAT Wave. Since I’m already late on this, just to let you all know, I missed the first five minutes of HEAT cuz I went to the movies to watch BATMAN BEGINS. Which by the way has to get the vote to be one of the top movies of ’05. And now that I have this chance to pimp the rest of the site, check out all the coverage here on Inside Pulse, we got plenty of reviews for the movie. And just to give you my opinion, I’ve seen it twice already, so in other words… it’s an awesome movie, best Batman yet, go see it now! Ok, on to the show.

Announcers for the night are The Coach and Todd Grisham.

Tajiri vs. Kid Kash
Since I missed the first five minutes of tonight’s show, I can’t recap this match, but here’s the cliff note version of it… tarantula, frog splash, kick to the head, pin and win.
Winner: Tajiri

We get a review of last Monday’s first match on RAW for John Cena, teaming with Chris Jericho vs. Christian and Tomko. And for the surprise ending, Jericho attacks Cena from behind to get Bischoff to set up a triple threat match at Vengeance between Chris Jericho vs. Christian vs. John Cena for the WWE Championship.

Val Venis vs. Simon Dean
You know, in a strange way I’m kinda glad that I missed the intro for HEAT tonight. Cuz I just found out that Maria is our ring announcer for the night and… um, ouch. Like I said before, I really got nothing against the RAW Divas, especially the new ones because they are all beautiful, but this Maria girl is a lot prettier than she sounds. We start the match off with Dean slamming Val from when he squared off against Chris Masters. And tries to sell him his power drink, but gets it spit back into his face for his trouble. Venis takes the upper hand early in the match as he whips him to the rope and takes a few slaps and punches in before Dean finally fights back. Dean chokes Val in the near left corner and then cheap shots him down to the mat. Goes for the pin but doesn’t even get the one count. Small roll up for Venis gets 2! But Dean quickly gets back up and locks Venis in a strange submission hold and into a pin for 2! Headlock sets Val up and knees him in the mid-section as Val is whipped into the corner but is slammed in the face with the knee. Huge knockdown cuts of Simon into the corner and nails the half- nelson slam. Venis goes up top for the money shot and delivers the goods for the win!
Winner: Val Venis

Last Monday flashback from commercial as Trips and The Nature Boy want to make sure that they show who’s in charge here on RAW. And they want to make sure they show that to the new draft pick for RAW who just happens to be Kurt Angle! Just have to say, wow. I’m shocked how WWE is handling this year’s draft. They are keeping it fresh and making us want to see who’s going to be next as they aren’t afraid to be switching big names over to the other show. Can we only hope that Smackdown drafts HHH!?!? Plus we get another match added to the Vengeance card with Kurt Angle vs. the returning Shawn Michaels.

World Tag Team Title Match:
Heartthrobs vs. The Hurricane and Rosey w/ Stacy Keibler (Champs)
Romeo starts the match off against Hurricane who is wearing some funny tights, the usual Hurricane ones, but with a dominant blue that really does fit his ‘Green’ Lantern persona. Anyway, Hurricane puts in some offense against Romeo until both teams tag their partners in as Rosey gets behind the drivers seat as Rosey sits on Antonio for a 2! Leg lariat on Antonio from Hurricane who also knocks Romeo off the ring apron and tosses Antonio to follow. Hurricane then whips across the ropes and dives over the top outside and hits both men as we cut to a quick commercial.

Back from the break we cut to Rosey now in the ring with Antonio who is in control until Romeo distracts Rosey and Antonio hits him in the back with a strong knee that knocks him outside. Double team from HT that slam Rosey into the ring post that nearly knocks him out cold. Antonio covers him for a close 2! Rosey still trying to fight back, but Romeo goes for the quick hit and the cover that doesn’t gets close. More double team from HT as Antonio tries to wear Rosey down. Back body drop from Rosey that gets him the tag from Hurricane who gains momentum, taking down HT with a few clotheslines and suplexes. Flying neck breaker hits Antonio and follows it up with a back body drop on Romeo. Rosey back in who slams Antonio down, and sets up on the top rope with Hurricane climbing on his back to get the drop on the fallen Antonio for the pin to retain the titles as the lovely Stacy comes in the ring to celebrate.
Winners and still champs: Hurricane and Rosey.

Heat Wave of the Night: Pretty solid HEAT show from tonight. Three matches in total with a Title match to close out the show in the main event. I’m still trying to calm down from last Sunday’s ECW after effects and watching BATMAN BEGINS so… I’m sort of tempted to give my thumbs up to one of those events. Not to mention the heat wave going on here at home with temperatures reaching 105+ it’s getting hard to pick!! Boy, I can’t wait until summer ends. However my wave of the night goes to the Title match. Nice little back and forth match that gave both teams something to jump on to and go forward. And Hurricane’s and Rosey’s finisher is a good one for that team to get wins. That does it for me guys, again sorry I missed the first few minutes and hopefully that doesn’t happen again any time soon. And just wanted to say a BIG Happy Birthday to Blanca and a Happy Father’s Day to all you Dad’s out their, especially mine!! Peace.
