A movie based on the hit television show 24 is in the works, at least at a very early stage, according to The Calgary Sun.
About a year ago, producers on the show spoke of an idea they had for a direct-to-video 24 movie with a brand new cast, but apparenlty those plans have been tossed out to make a larger venture.
“The last I heard, the first hour will not be in real-time, but then something big will happen and real time will kick in. It still has to be worked out — it’s at a stage where they need to write it” said director/producer Jon Cassar.
Sources say that the 24 movie’s storyline will most likely revolve around whatever is happening on the TV series at the time. The film could be as far as two years away, making it far too early to have any concrete plot details.
No word on whether Kiefer Sutherland will star in the film, though odds are likely he would join if the film called for his presence.
