– Rikishi recently booked a tour of Italy for a promotion called Nu Wrestling, featuring his relatives Tonga Kid, Jamal and Black Pearl, along with former WWE stars Billy Gunn, Chuck Palumbo, Johnny Stamboli, Nidia and former OVW wrestler Bobbi Billard. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that it is pulling in good money, and hot crowds.
– At the 6/12 NYC Ring of Honor show, the original plan was for Shane Douglass to start out babyface, cut a heel promo, and then come back out later on saying that the Samoa Joe match “changed his mind,” and help put over the promotion. Of course, as we reported here, Shane was booed out of the building despite his efforts to the contrary.
– Bobby Heenan had knee replacement surgery on 6/7 and is scheduled for his second surgery in August. He is said to be in good spirits.
