WWE ByteThis! Report

Archive

We kick off ByteThis! tonight with Marc Loyd and Steve Romero. Romero is wearing is one of his famous colorful Hawaiian shirts. They remind us that tonight’s guests are Triple H and Carlito. Hell in a Cell is promoted for Vengeance. They discuss Shelton losing his Intercontinental Title to Carlito on Monday. The poll question of the night is: Who will win Hell in a Cell? On the Smackdown! side of things, they discuss Randy Orton being drafted and RKOing the Undertaker. Droz is next!

There is a promo for Kurt Angle vs. Shawn Michaels at Vengeance. WWE 24/7 commercial is shown. An advertisement for John Cena’s CD is also shown. A short promo for Hell in a Cell is played.

We come back to Droz. He is asked if he has ever competed in a Hell in a Cell match. He answers no, but says he married one. He says to expect two big men beating the hell out of each other. In the end, Droz predicts Triple H will come out with the win. They ask if Triple H giving the Pedigree on Batista this past Monday was a sign of things to come. Droz answers no, because that was a tag team match, and Hell in a Cell is a whole other story. They all discuss the Triple Threat match for the WWE Title. Droz comments that Jericho and Christian have made it personal. He believes Christian and Jericho will work together for a while, but will eventually have to face each other. Droz thinks Cena will come out with the win. Angle vs. Michaels is discussed. Droz says they put on a spectacular show at Wrestlemania 21, and they will do the same at Vengeance. He thinks HBK will get the win. They ask his predictions for Shelton vs. Carlito. He says that Shelton is a phenomenal athlete, but Carlito will retain. Loyd asks about Kane vs. Edge. Droz says that Edge and Lita have been doing everything to get under Kane’s skin. He predicts Kane will win, as a result of Lita accidentally costing Edge the match. They then talk about Christ Hemme vs. Victoria. Droz say Victoria is the veteran, but Christy is fiery and will come out with the win. Droz leaves saying that his predictions will either make or break him. Carlito is up next. Now that’s cool…

They show footage of Smackdown! from March 24 of Carlito doing his Elvis Presley impersonation.

We come back and Carlito is on the phone. They comment that Shelton was one of the best Intercontinental Champions. Carlito says that may be true, but he is the coolest champion. He says he beat Cena for the United States title on his debut match on Smackdown!, and Shelton for the Intercontinental title on his RAW debut match. He says he is the “King of Debuts”. Loyd and Romero decide to play a game with Carlito. They will say a superstar’s name and Carlito will use one word to describe them.

Batista: Overrated
Triple H: Smart
Shawn Michaels: Has-Been
Chris Jericho: Lame Host
Cena: Target for Carlito

They ask if winning the title made his debut any better. He says no, and that just by having Carlito on RAW is a good thing. They ask him about the Cabana, and he says it will continue. Carlito says to consider the Highlight Reel cancelled. Loyd asks if he will have a better relationship with Eric Bischoff then with Theodore Long. He says yes, and that Bischoff is a fair man. They ask him which punishment from Theodore Long was the worse. He says that all of them were bad, but he kept his cool. Romero says that he did a bad Elvis impersonation. Carlito corrects Romero and says that Elvis wasn’t cool, so there was not much to work with. We get an e-mail question asking if Benjamin tripping over the top rope affected the match. Carlito says no, but that he took advantage and “beat the crap” out of Shelton after that. They ask if we would have won, had he not used the ropes. Carlito says that he only used the ropes to get his balance back. They ask why he would spit an apple at a fine girl like Maria. He says “obviously, she wasn’t that fine to Carlito.” Another e-mail and the question is: why does Carlito choose apples. Carlito says that they are his favorite food. Loyd says that a lot of the questions are from ladies. Carlito says “of course, females love Carlito.” Somebody calls in and asks if Carlito being a second-generation superstar helped his success. Carlito says no, and that he’s successful just because he’s Carlito. They ask about his Wrestlemania 21 appearance and ask what it was like for him. He says that the real question is “how was it like for the fans?” because it was just another walk in the park for Carlito. They ask if there is any animosity in the locker room because he won the title in his debut match, where as some have been working for it and haven’t gotten it. He says of course, and everybody wants to be Carlito. He says at Vengeance, Shelton doesn’t have a chance. They ask if his father will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. He answers that he should be just for being related to Carlito. They talk about how “cool” Carlito’s new shirt is. Loyd wants to know how he can become cooler. Carlito says to quit the business. He says everybody knows how un-cool Loyd and Romero are and gets off the phone. Triple H is coming up next…

We see Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels from Bad Blood 2004.

We come back and Steve and Marc are discussing strategies for Hell in a Cell. They promote Angle vs. Michaels more. They also comment on Y2J’s renewed interest in wrestling. Triple H is now on the phone. They ask him about Hell in a Cell and he says that Batista got lucky twice, but there is now way he can win three times, “bank on it.” Somewhere Edge cries… They comment that Triple H has never lost a Hell in a Cell, but Batista has never been in one. He says no matter what people tell you, nothing can prepare you for that match. He says it is a physically grueling match. Trips says he has the psychological advantage. He says Batista is scared because the reality is that Triple H is going to win. The ask him which Hell in a Cell moment was most memorable. He says that it was ending Mick Foley’s career. He also mentions his matches with Kevin Nash and HBK. They ask him what makes him “immune” from the effects of Hell in a Cell. He says he is not immune, and the effects may not show weeks after, but more like 20 years in the future. A fan calls in and asks what will happen if he beats Batista and then gets drafted to Smackdown!? Smart fan… Triple H says it doesn’t matter, whatever show he goes to will be the number one show. Loyd asks him what the feeling of being in the cell is like. He says it is a huge and menacing structure. He says that when the match is over, it is over. They ask him that since he taught Batista, does it give Batista an advantage. He says Evolution bred Orton and Batista, but he still knows more. We get an e-mail question that asks if Triple H would stop before getting 16 word tiles, in respect of Flair. He comments that it would be in the future, and it would disrespect Flair to stop. He says he would continue for respect of Ric. They comment that Batista has been in an Elimination Chamber match and wonder if it is the same. Triple H says it doesn’t compare. He says there are people waiting in pods, and when two men are fighting you can rest. In Hell in a Cell, it’s two men beating the hell out of each other in the ring. They ask for his thoughts on the draft picks. He says that they are all talented superstars.

Carlito: Has a great future of him.
Kurt Angle: Former Champion, Olympic Gold Medalist
John Cena: Good album…isn’t the man until he gets in the ring with Trips.

They ask if he has a ritual for Hell in a Cell. He says he has to mentally and physically prepare himself. Triple H gets off the phone. They talk more about Vengeance and the Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio on Smackdown! this Thursday. Next week’s guests will be Jim Ross and Road Warrior Animal. Marc and Steve exit.

We close with a very long promo for Hell in a Cell.
