I just read your recap for the first time. I like the format. You hit all the main points without boring me to death with an elaborate blow-by blow. Thanks. – Jason Mis

You’re welcome!

LIVE from Anaheim, CA
Hosts are Jerry Lawler, Johnathan Coachman(!), & Jim Ross

Kurt Angle walks out to the ring and grabs the stick. He mentions the HBK/Angle feud being tied 1-1, but he made HBK tapped with his win, so the series is really 2-1, favoring him. He moves on to Batista, and calls him out, but gets Ric Flair instead. Ric offers a handshake, and Kurt accepts. Ric puts Angle over as possibly being the best wrestler there ever was. Ric even says that he’s a mark for Kurt, but HHH is the man. Angle tells Ric he’s looking at great, and suggests he go to the back and take a nap before he gets hurt. Ric says getting in an airplane crash is getting hurt, and tells what he’s going to do to Kurt if he messes with him. Kurt is tired Flair’s babbling, and threatens to ask Bischoff for a match between the two right here tonight. Ric is fine with that.

By the way, there are 2, that’s right, 2 draft picks tonight.

Commercial break.

Last night, extra footage shows that Bischoff made Y2J, Christian, & Tyson Tomko vs. Cena & two partners of his choice for tonight, last night at Vengeance.

Edge & Snitsky vs. Kane & the new RAW lottery pick…
The fight errupts before Kane’s partner can even come out. Edge and Lita run off, and Kane follows. This leaves Snitsky in the ring.

Bishcoff comes out and says that since Kane & Edge have left, Gene will have to face this guy by himself.

Snitsky(0-1) vs. Big Show(3-3)
They slug it out, and Snitsky goes low. Show throws him around some, and kills him with a chop. BS gets a vertical suplex, and knocks him down again with a short clothesline. Show eats boot, but runs into the Chokeslam! What more do I need to say?

Commercial break.

Backstage, Maria is with Cena. Maria forgets her question, so Cena grabs the mic and tells Maria to go think about it. John recaps the events, and introduces one of his partners for tonight – Shawn Michaels. HBK says that he has made the call, which means there will be a third member for Cena’s team. Maria remembers her question, and asks John if he’s found a partner.

Backstage, Edge and Lita are running out of Anaheim. Lita goes to get her bag, when she runs into Kane in her locker room. Kane threatens her, and basically says that he’s going to make Lita’s life a living hell.

Commercial break.

Master Lock Challenge
Chris is upping the money to $14,000 tonight, and Tajiri answers. Masters asks Tajiri if he understands anything, and Tajiri calls Chris a Master Jackass. Masters pushes him, so Tajiri retaliates with a kick. Chris gets into the Tarantula, but eventually fights back. Master Lock and that’s all she wrote.

Afterwards, Masters demands respect from Tajiri, but gets the mist instead.

Commercial break.

The Cabana has come to RAW. Carlito goes over what all he is replacing on RAW, and announces he has the job of introducing the final draft pick. And it is…Rob Van Dam. The crowd goes crazy! Carlito brings up RVD’s promo from One Night Stand, and corrects him – he says three words. The 3rd being dude. Rob tells Carlito that he better get ready for the return of Mister Monday Night. CCC mentions RVD still being injured, and atatcks him as a result. Carlito,”Welcome to Carlito’s show!”.

Commercial break.

Kurt Angle(4-5) vs. Ric Flair(2-0)
The “You Suck” chants are in full effect. Angle grabs the side headlock and takes him down. Flair gets the side headlock, and does some strutting. Angle runs to him, only to get backdropped to the outside. Flair follows him and kills him with a chop. Back in, Ric chain wrestles, but Angle counters into a pinning attempt. Ric rips the mouth to get loose, and then attacks the nose. Angle takes him down, but Ric fights dirty and gets a chop in the corner. Angle fights back and dumps him. Kurt eats steps, and can’t escape the chops. Angle however does get a belly to belly suplex on the outside as we got to a:

Commercial break.

We’re back with Kurt in control. Kurt unleashes the right hands, and Flair regroups. Back in, Angle goes back in control, and gets a backdrop for 2. Ric bites out of a STF, and he stays on it. The two continue to brawl, and Kurt gets a backdrop on the outside. It gets 2 back in. Kurt gets the Angle Slam for 2. Angle hooks on the Ankle Lock, but Ric grabs on the testicles to break it. Ric works over the legs and hooks on the Figure-four Leglock. Kurt rolls through to the ropes to break it. Ric gets a vertical suplex for 2. Ric goes back to working the legs, but Angle snaps on the Ankle Lock. The tap is academic. Would have been a good match if Ric were 20 years younger.

Smackdown! Rebound.

Commercial break.

Coach is in the ring, as it’s time to meet the 8 finalists from the RAW Diva Search. Christy Hemme comes out as well. Christy congratulates the Divas on making it this far, and Coach mentions anything being able to happen. Johnathan is about to tell the girls of their task, but Viscera interrupts. Vis yanks the mic, and tells the women they need to learn to get sexy. So the women show the whole world why they need to be RAW divas, which basically means stripping. Except for Leyla, who isn’t wearing any underwear. Alexis may actually be a wrestling fan, as she drinks a bear and quotes Ric Flair. The chicks dance with Big Vis, until Slaughter comes out. He announces a Bikini Bootcamp for the diva wannabes next week. The chicks continue dancing as we go to a:

Commercial break.

Backstage, Grisham is with Batista, who expresses how he feels. Apparently, Dave lost something in the Cell last night which he won’t get back, but still thinks it was worth it for the WHC.

Meanwhile, Christian, Y2J, and Tomko are wondering who the final partner is in the main event. They X-out Nash and Janetty, and laugh at the Rock.

Commercial break.

Christian, Tyson Tomko, & Chris Jericho vs. John Cena, Shawn Michaels, & Hulk Hogan
Big pops for the faces. We take a break after the entrances and pick it up with Cena and Y2J duking it out. Cena tags in HBK, who gets a flyning forearm. He takes care of CC and Tomko, but runs into an enzuigiri. Tomko comes in, and gets a powerslam for 2. Christian tags in and gets a neckbreaker for 2. The heels continue working over Michaels as the fans chant “we want Hogan”. Lionsault misses, and HBK tags Hogan in to an amazing reception. He cleans house for a while, but Christian and Tomko double team him. He hulks up however, headbutting the two. Sweet Chin Music on Christian, and the Leg Drop on Tyson gets the 3.

The faces pose as the show ends.

Biggest Cheers

2)HBK/Cena
3)RVD

Biggest Jeers
