[WWE] Notes on New and Returning Superstars, More

Archive

– WrestlingObserver.com’s Dave Meltzer is reporting the following: “Reports that Matt Hardy has signed a contract with TNA are untrue. If he’s not back in WWE by mid-July, I would expect him in TNA, but he has not made that full commitment.”

– In what may be a draft lottery/trade deadline spoiler, this week’s Television Week trade magazine, USA Network had a two-page advertorial spread for its new “Characters Welcome” slogan. Kojak, Monk, Law & Order SVU, Serena Williams and HHH (presumably staying on USA Network’s RAW) were included.

– Reports are that Rico was in attendance backstage at Vengeance in Las Vegas.

– Lauren Jones has been removed from the Smackdown superstars page, with Juvi, Psicosis and Super Crazy added. Big Show and RVD — tonight’s two draft picks — were added to RAW’s page.

– PWInsider.com is reporting that their sources are saying WWE is looking to add new tag teams to its roster, and have already talked with ECW’s final tag champions Danny Doring & Roadkill, as well as Axl Rotten and Balls Mahoney. The latter duo will have tryouts at the July 11 RAW and July 12 Smackdown tapings, with John Laurinaitis suggesting they come in.

– Frankie Kazarian was backstage at last week’s TV tapings, and was expected to be in Anaheim tonight.

– Eugene appeared as a surprise at the Ohio Valley Wrestling TV taping last week and will appear at their Six Flags event on July 6 along with the Dudley Boyz. We will have the latest OVW report posted soon here on InsidePulse.com.

– The ECW DVD comes out tomorrow.

– After tonight’s “supershow” RAW and SD taping in Anaheim, WWE’s tour of Asia begins. Superstars will be visiting Japan and South Korea.
