This issue marks the final chapter in the Outsiders/Teen Titans crossover “The
Insiders.” A quick and dirty summary: a member of each team “went
rogue”…Superboy, via Lex Luthor trickery, and Indigo, via Brainiac.

As I reflect in my final score, this issue was perfect to me. It was a slugfest
to end all slugfests, but it was also packed with emotion, since our heroes
were fighting two of their own. Everyone got a chance to shine, but some deserve
an honorable mention. The Superboy/Luthor/Wonder Girl stuff was excellent; you
could really feel what each of these characters were feeling. But the blue ribbon,
in my mind, goes to Indigo and Shift. The issue opens with a particularly tender
moment of the two in a flashback. Fittingly, this moment comes into play at
the end of the story, for which there is only one word: heartbreaking.’

I really don’t want to give anything away in this story, so I urge you to pick
it up. It would probably help to grab the preceding 3 issues in the crossover
as well, but please, please, please give this a read. Especially all of you
Winick haters. :-)
