Though it started off slowly, seemingly only recapping the events of Countdown to Infinite Crisis, the OMAC Project has really picked up steam and become a must-read.

The issue begins with a showdown between Batman/Sasha Bordeaux and 3 OMACs. It is in this battle that we really see for the first time exactly the level of threat the OMACs represent.

Meanwhile, as Batman and Sasha have their hands full with OMACS, Wonder Woman and Booster Gold searching in vain for the Brother Eye satellite. Guy Gardner appears, and takes Booster Gold with him to continue the hunt, leaving Wonder Woman behind because she wasn’t “one of them.” This is a very poignant scene, as it is obvious that Wonder Woman is hurt by this, but at the same time, she understands. It is also very obvious that she is not taking Blue Beetle’s death too lightly.

This issue also makes mention a number of times of the “OMAC Virus,” which should not be too big of a mystery to anyone who read Countdown to Infinite Crisis and saw the OMAC transformation. Nonetheless, I look forward to next issue, and I may even buy the Superman and Wonder Woman spinoffs, based solely on the “whammy factor” of the cliffhanger.
