'O.C.' Cast Keeps Growing

Eric Mabius will be keeping his “Eyes” on the teens of “The O.C.” this fall.

Mabius, who starred in the short-lived ABC drama “Eyes” last season, will join the cast of “The O.C.” for next season. He’ll have a recurring role as the new dean of discipline at the Harbor School, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

His character joins the school’s staff because of heightened concerns about the safety of its students — what with drugged-out girls turning up in swimming pools and guns being drawn at local hangouts. The dean will apparently come into conflict with Ryan, Seth (Adam Brody), Summer (Rachel Bilson) and Marissa (Mischa Barton), whom he pegs as troublemakers.

Mabius is the second major addition to the cast of “The O.C.” for 2005-06. FOX announced last week that former “Boston Public” star Jeri Ryan will have a role as Kirsten’s (Kelly Rowan) fellow rehab patient and friend.

Mabius portrayed surveillance expert Jeff McCann on “Eyes” and Mia Kirshner’s boyfriend on the first season of Showtime’s “The L Word.”
