– Regarding the Lita episode of Byte This!, one source told Wrestling Observer that she was in fact supposed to stay for the full hour and walking off early was unplanned. Some in WWE had heat on Hardy for going too far and coming across heelish in his attacks on Lita, but not many people watch Byte This overall compared to TV, and he is still getting babyface reactions from crowds. Also on that episode, Lita implied that Matt had Edge’s tires slashed, but some reports have come in that it was really former WWF wrestler Joey Abs, who had dated Matt’s current girlfriend and was trying to set him up. There are also some rumors — since no one knows exactly when it became a work — that Matt and Lita are back together and have been working the angle for a lot longer than thought, but at this time that’s merely speculation and too many things don’t line up to make a fair assessment of those rumors.
– Backstage at the ESPN ESPY Awards, a reporter asked The Rock what he thought of the Matt Hardy/Edge situation at which point, after stalling a bit, he said “Well, just like Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, I know them both and want the best for all of them, but at the end of the day … we’re all pretty much too busy to give a shit” followed by laughter.
