The Sunday HEAT Wave

Archive

Another Sunday, another HEAT! A good thing and a bad thing, bad for the simple reason that I’m stuck in another 90+ degree weekend. And that my stupid computer shut off before I could save it halfway through HEAT. So bare with me on the shortness of the review. But the good news is that I’m still up and walking after surviving the first week of this month. Not to bad so far, and actually bearable (with some help!) but… my countdown clock to the end of the month couldn’t tick any faster.

Rene Dupree vs. Viscera
Pretty decent match for two guys who have been on a decent winning streak between the two. Usual back and forth stuff for Viscera until he throws Dupree out of the ring and chases out after him. Everything goes all downhill from there as Dupree baits him in to work on the arm. And just to save some face, Dupree shoves the ref to end things in a DQ.
Winner: Viscera

Johnny Parisi vs. Matt Striker
They show a small backstage interview on how Matt finally has a WWE contract. Let’s just hope he doesn’t call in sick with the matches he’ll be put into. Speaking of which, we got the Swingman to join us. Pinning bridge ends the match for Striker
Winner: Guy with the apple (no, NOT Carlito) Matt
Striker

Matt Hardy RAW review: Since we’re on the subject, we have another Matt who has just recently signed a contract with WWE. I’m glad they finally pulled Hardy in and stopped the run-ins as it was old news after the first week. Matt shoots through the entire interview to set up a match with Edge at Summerslam.

Tyson Tomko vs. Who?
Sorry, missed the name… I’m sure I’ll get it from Todd soon. But Tomko immediately start taking hold of the match off the bat and just starts to whale on the poor guy. Which I think I heard, Vic Devine!? Anyway, more squashing as Tomko chokes him out on the ropes and tosses him around like a rag doll. Tyson stalks around the ring for his prey and follows it up with a HUGE big boot to the face for the win. Total squash since the music hit the speakers.
Winner: Tyson Tomko

RAW Diva search review: Summer goes home and thus messes up my finals prediction. Hey at least Ashley is still in.

Quick HEAT: Damn Rob Schneider is short

Coach refers to HT as the possible next tag champs of the world. Hey as anyone told him yet that their tag belts are NON EXISTANT!?!? Or they should at least name them the HEAT Tag Titles, cuz they sure aren’t appearing on PPV’s or RAW’s. Hurricane starts off the match with a few arm take downs on both opponents. Hopefully the ‘champs’ have better luck this week than the previous one cuz… ouch. Rosey is tagged in and is on fire until a missed elbow drop. Antonio then is tagged in and takes charge as HT begins the double team on the superhero. Continuous stops from HT to block any tag in to Hurricane as more double teaming is followed. Finally Hurricane gets back into the game and flexes his super strength. Flying cross body drop connects on Romeo as all hell breaks loose. Then out of nowhere it’s Victoria!?!?! Who attacks Stacy on the outside. And just as you would expect HT gets the wi… swerve, Hurricane reverses the pin and gets the win!
Winners: The Hurricane and Rosey

Heat Wave of the Night: Pretty good show (with the exception of my cpu) with a few matches and surprise, surprise… a angle development!? It looks like they may finally get something going here with the tag titles, even though it may just be on HEAT, but its something. And looks as if they may set up Victoria with HT to go head on with the Superhero Team. Again, at least it’s something. So the wave’s going to the MAIN EVENT!!! Nice match and almost had me thinking HT was gonna win the title shot once Victoria made her appearance. So that’s it till next time. Week 1 of August down, 4 more to go! Peace.
