Dusty Rhodes on Byte This!
August 10, 2005

This week on Byte This!, former World Champion Dusty Rhodes revealed that he is close to signing with World Wrestling Entertainment in a creative role.

– On Byte This!, Dusty called in to confirm that he is in talks and that they have agreed to talk again. He is signing into the Legends program, would like to come in and work a non-televised match against Ric Flair one last time, and he looks forward to meeting with WWE again and possibly working with the young minds and veterans on the WWE creative staff. He said “I like making movies, and I look at what WWE does as a big movie,” made mention of Starcade and how he’d love to have the opportunity to work on next year’s Great American Bash behind the scenes creatively.

– Also on Byte This! — InsidePulse’s Gene Lindberg should be back to doing reports each week once he solves some computer problems — was Carlito Caribbean Cool, live in the studio. Some highlights:

*Carlito’s not excited about Dusty coming to WWE, since “he’s not Carlito.”
*They talk about his Smackdown debut where he won the US Title from John Cena. Carlito says he has Cena’s number and HE should be WWE Champion.
*”Carlito will let his hair grow as long as he wants.”
*”I hope I get another rematch [vs. Cena] and I hope that damn Chad Patton is fired.”
*They show the RAW debut where he beats Shelton for the IC Title.
*When asked about his father he says, “you talk about pressure, ’cause my father’s a legend? Carlito’s a legend.”
*If Jericho beats Cena at Summerslam, Carlito will take it easy on Jericho to give the fans a longer match; he won’t beat him too quickly.
*They do “Cool or Not Cool” where they ask Carlito a question and he answers:
>>John Cena: Not cool.
>>Chris Jericho: Getting cooler.
>>Hulk Hogan: Hulk Hogan is a wannabe.
>>Ric Flair: I’m gonna have to put him in that Hulk Hogan category, he does his stupid woo.
>>Shawn Michaels: You know that gay little dance he does, it’s kinda girly. Definitely not cool, though I did enjoy his promo on Hulk Hogan.
>>Mr. McMahon: Very cool guy. One of the coolest guys around.
>>Terrell Owens: Cool, he’s a superstar like Carlito.
>>Kenny Rogers, baseball player: Cool.
>>SF Radio Guy that made comment about Caribbeans: He’s obviously jealous, some Caribbean guy stole his girlfriend.
>>Todd Grisham: Definitely not cool, I mean look at you.
*Carlito says The Rock wants to be like Carlito. “What was the name of his movie with John Travolta?”
*Dream match: would be against himself.
*Favorite music: likes everything, except country. “Don’t play that country around me.”
*Favorite wrestlers growing up: my father, Savage, Steamboat, Flair back in the day.
*Carlito makes them cut off showing the segment from Mania where he was beat up by Piper and Austin.
*They show John Cena’s new video for “Right Now” (after Carlito spits an apple in Todd’s face) and run down the RAW preview, including the Diva Search Finale and Hogan vs. Angle.

– Al Snow’s bio has been removed from the SD superstars page. He is a full-time trainer at OVW now and hasn’t been on TV much, if at all, since Tough Enough IV ended last year.

– Following is the official Smackdown preview from WWE.com:

Coming For Custody
August 11, 2005

Eddie Guerrero’s quest to take back his biological son Dominick will continue as SmackDown! visits Columbus, Ohio.

Last week, Guerrero presented Rey Mysterio with custody papers, and with an attorney by his side, demanded that Mysterio bring Dominick to the arena so he could take him home.

Emotions figure to continue to run high during this very personal grudge.

Meanwhile, World Heavyweight Champion Batista will be Christian’s guest on the Peep Show. Batista is defending the World Heavyweight Championship against JBL in a No Holds Barred Match at SummerSlam.

Also, in singles action, Booker T takes on Joey Mercury. And The Legend Killer Randy Orton returns to the ring.
