[WWE] Update on Diva Search Contestants

With WWE naming Ashley Massero the 2005 RAW Diva Search winner (and already adding her to the RAW Superstars page on WWE.com and giving her quality on-air time at Summerslam), here is an update on some other Diva Search contestants:

– 2004 RAW Diva Search winner Christy Hemme has had a meaningful role on RAW for the past year, both in the ring (matches with Trish and Victoria), as a “host” of the 2005 contest, and currently as Eugene’s valet/”cheerleader.” She has appeared in Playboy and improved a great deal on the mic and in the ring, although she’s still not a very good wrestler.

– 2003 WWE Diva Search winner Jamie Koeppe, who never got a TV deal, but was featured in Confidential and one of WWE’s magazines after being chosen as a diva at a special pay per view, is now cheerleading for the CFL’s BC Lions.

– Other contestants that have signed WWE contracts or appeared on WWE TV include Joy Giovanni (recently released after being in a program with Big Show), Amy Weber (recently released after being a part of JBL’s “Cabinet), Maria Kanellis (currently a member of the RAW roster as a backstage interviewer while also training in Ohio Valley Wrestling), Michelle McCool (currently a member of the SD roster and training in Deep South Wrestling) and Carmella DeCesare (worked a short program with Hemme after the Diva Search).

It is expected that at least one or two 2005 Diva Search contestants will be offered contracts with WWE in the coming months.
