[MISC] Update on Jericho’s Status in Wrestling

Archive

According to Pro Wrestling Torch’s Wade Keller, Chris Jericho has seemingly given permission for his image/likeness to be used in front of the TNA logo, as we previously reported here, fueling speculation to his next move in the wrestling world. WWE is not concerned that he will wrestle anywhere else but the WWE. If Jericho decides to sign with TNA, despite saying otherwise, he would be swerving Vince McMahon, he would be breaking their trust in him, and that could be irreparable.

Keller states that if Jericho signs with TNA, he could be a major top star with presumably more creative control and get a six-figure salary while working fewer dates a month than he works in the WWE. Since he’s saved his money well, according to all accounts, he may not be concerned about ever returning to WWE since he could always make a living on the indy scene in the U.S. and taking overseas bookings.

As previously noted, Jericho has been planning to take time off to spend time with his family, recharge his batteries, explore opportunities in Hollywood and focus on his music career with his band Fozzy. Jericho is represented by wrestling agent Barry Bloom, who also represents Kevin Nash and Mick Foley, Bloom is current negotiating a contract renewal on behalf of NWA TNA’s Monty Brown.
