Sarah's Spin : April Thinks I'm A POS. I'm Sad.

I’m an evil, evil person. After the houseguests of Big Brother discovered that Janelle won the popular vote to get a phonecall, and seeing Ivette and April’s reaction, I had a moment of satisfaction. But, just a moment as I witnessed The Friendship delude themselves into the insanity that is getting them through the game. It may just take them all the way.

Of course they couldn’t be happy for Janelle. I didn’t expect that at all, but I didn’t expect the complete mourning that they threw themselves into. April cursed everyone available: Janelle for winning, Michael for being the person she talked to, Shapiro and CBS for “rigging” the outcomes, the American public for voting for anyone but her. She cannot live with the possibilty that The Friendship aren’t our favorites. She compares herself to Robert of BB5, but doesn’t comprehend that as much as we disliked Robert, he deserved to talk to his daughter. I, like many people who voted in this poll, don’t see April in that same light.

I have no sympathy at all for April. Ivette, on the other hand, I feel a bit bad for. She had spent the last few days working herself up so much, and she honestly expected she would win. Foolish, yes. But, unlike April, I think that Ivette is upset that she didn’t get to talk to her Mom, not upset that someone other than her won.

Howie didn’t care to win, so no loss there. Beau didn’t seem to miffed either way. Maggie appears to be handling it well. Maybe, deep down she would have rather talked to Cappy than her husband. James seems more concerned about comforting Ivette, than talking to the girlfriend he referred to as “Scare-ah” the other night. He didn’t want her back in the game if he had the chance, so a phonecall is moot.

I can’t figure out if they actually, truly think that Big Brother rigged America’s Choice, or if that’s just what they are saying aloud. They spouted the same reasoning when Kaysar won a week back in the house. April angrily says, “If America really did pick her, then the fans that watch this show are ALL pieces of SH*T!” and “For god’s sake, I have a husband. I’m a newlywed, so we know it’s rigged!” In their sheltered little set, is it that hard to comprehend that we don’t like the “good guys”, that we are more entertained by Howie, Janelle, and James than any of the others? Yes, I know that the chances of any of those three winning is slim to none, but I can pretty much bet that they’ll be the ones who benefit long-term from the game, if there is such a thing.

I admit, I didn’t vote for Janelle. My vote went to James, who I don’t like the best in the game, but I like him enough to know he deserves a little chat with Sarah. I foolishly hoped that Sarah might have been able to talk game with him, but I later realized that’s not allowed. I can’t say that I’m glad The Friendship didn’t win, but when the truth comes to them, about their popularity and the way America views the “Nerd Herd”, maybe the tears shed will be legit.
