[SD] Paul London’s Recent Absence, Heat with Management

Archive

Mike Johnson at PWInsider.com is reporting that Paul London has been home for several weeks due to a family illness. He has gotten WWE management’s permission to take time off, according to WWE road agents. Some wrestlers have speculated, says Johnson, that WWE management is hoping London’s time away will change his attitude.

As previously reported, London was vocal when management told the cruiserweights to tone down their movesets, asking him to find a new finishing move as opposed to the Shooting Star Press or 450 Splash. London reportedly asked to speak with Vince, and gave an “impassioned plea” (according to Mike Johnson, based on WWE wrestlers’ accounts) to let the smaller wrestlers keep the moves to stand out, since they’ll never get over as big, muscular guys.

A week later, on Velocity, London dropped his CW Title to Nunzio and began an apparent heel turn prior to his taking time off.
