The dark main event of The Tolands vs Chris Cage and Nick Nemeth is in the ring right now. There was no blockbuster angle tonight, but perhaps the best show Heyman has booked anyway. The crowd has definitely changed, and the heat in the main event was off then charts.

The show opened with a brawl as Elijah Burke, Deuce Shade, and Brent Albright fought Jeter, Mr Kennedy, and Daniel Puder.

Then in the first match, Aaron The Idol Stevens pinned Robert Fury.

Now starts the story of the night. Backstage, Jeter and Kennedy and Puder are talking to Nigel McGuinness, Paul Birchall, and Da Beast. Jeter offers any of them a title match if they win their singles’ matches tonight against Elijah, Deuce, or Albright.

First, Elijah pinned Nigel. This match was short and thank God because it sucked royally.

Next, in what was a fantastic match with great crowd heat, Deuce pinned Paul Birchall in a match that went about 8 minutes. Great match.

Then Albright beat Da Beast via tap out, but afterwards Mike Mondo ripped at Albright’s eye and they played it up big.

After a break, Albright was at the desk, and said Jeter was obviously behind the attack, but Albright was going after Jeter’s title, the most important title and that brought out Ken Doane. Albright had an ice pack on his eye, and was selling a lot. Doane was pissed that Albright didn’t mention the TV Title. Albright said he meant no disrespect to the TV Title and he apologized to the heritage of the championship. GREAT STUFF!

Doane was still pissed and demanded an apology. Albright slapped him. Doane was angry. Albright slapped him again. A third time.

Doane got up in Brent’s face and said, “in the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king. Well this is not the land of the blind. It’s the land of the Doane. And I’m going to show you why at 19, I am already better than than you can ever hope to be in your entire career.” Best promo of Doane’s career.

This is a match of the year candidate, the most heat for a match I’ve seen in OVW in a long long time. Albright’s eye looked shut, and Doane was vicious on the eye. Great suplexes by Albright. False finishes galore. A 12 to 15 minute match, ending when the ref got bumped.

Dean Visk came in the ring and tried to stop Albright. Lashley came in, continuing his babyface turn, and “accidentally” laid out Visk. Lashley shrugged his shoulders and left.

Albright stood up, and Doane tried to hit the RKO. This got turned into the Crowbar, and Doane got his feet in the ropes. The ref came to, started counting the 5 count on Albright. On 4, Doane tapped. The ref called for the bell, but who won? The rope dq? The tap? As both men pleaded their case, the crowd was screaming YOU TAPPED OUT at Doane.

Jeter hit the ring, laid Albright out with the title belt.

No blockbuster angle, but the best tv I’ve seen. Another “must see TV” by Heyman and gang, and great crowd heat as OVW’s roll continues. Everyone is buzzing.
