Outsiders is a book I look forward to every month, and recently, some major $#!% has gone down: former teammate Donna Troy is not (as previously thought) dead, Nightwing has quit the team, and Indigo went rogue and is now dead.

This issue is almost completely devoid of action, but it makes up for it incredibly with really excellent character moments. Nightwing and Starfire have a little post-coital pow-wow, Shift and Metamorpho wax sentimental while trying to get drunk, Grace and Thunder do the same, and finally Jade recruits a new member to the team, before taking some final necessary action with Arsenal. I’m very excited to see where we go from here, especially with next issue featuring the return of the Fearsome Five!

The art was okay for me. It was mostly really good, but there were places where it looked awkward and distracted me from the story. Now, I’m an artist so I notice that kind of thing, so it may not bother you. Also, the cover is pretty cool, except that everybody has the exact same pouty face, and the women have monkey-esque faces.
