My review will be brief, as it always is for a book by Brian K. Vaughan. Those who know my reviews know that I don’t like to give too much of the plot away, because I feel that that takes away from the story, should the person reading my review want to check out the book itself. Well, with a book by Vaughan, I have even less to work with, because the whole book is full of plot exposition and important events, and is very dialogue-driven. So, to say too much would be to do this book a disservice.

To give a brief overview, Yorick and company have finally arrived in Australia, where Yorick hopes to find his fiancée Beth, whom he hasn’t seen in 3 years. Everyone advises against Yorick looking for her, since she’s in the Outback, which is extremely vast. He insists, however, and so he sets off with Agent 355 to try to locate the girl. Also in Australia is a tabloid reporter who has been writing rumours about a “last man” ever since the plague killed all the men. These two plots WILL intersect…

Pia Guerra’s art is as much a part of Y: The Last Man as Vaughan’s writing, and I can’t really give much better praise than that. Great stuff, every month.
