i was pleasured to be able to attend the hardcore homecoming show on sept 17 at the golden dome in monaca pa

mark madden opened the show speaking about hurricane relief and introduced tod gordon then johnny grunge came out for a moment of silence for the wrestlers from ecw that have died since then

snadman then came out and cut a promo on hurricane katrina( he was obviously drunk) he also did the ring intros for two indy wrestlers 1 of which was billed as being from baton rouge and he went over, not too good of an opening match

tracy smothers beat blue meanie they had a dance off during the match…lots of anti-jbl chants

danny doring and roadkill beat cw anderson and chris chetti

new jack defeated ian rotten and balls mahoney in a sick weapons match that saw ian have dollar bills stapled to his face, and new jack take a sick dive from the bleachers

jerry lynn beat justin credible(yes he used that name) in an outstanding match which saw lots of offense from both men

shane douglas w/ francine beat pitbull gary wolfe in a dog collar match after the match shane cut a tremendous promo on vince mcmahon continuously calling him a jackass( huge ecw chant during promo which douglas encouraged) he said he came home to pittsburgh and was going to announce his retirement but decided not to due to the fan support and wants to take hardcore homecoming all over and stick it straight up vince’s billion dollar ass

the main event was a stairway to hell barbed wire match between sabu w/ fonzie and sandman w/ tod gordon brutal match sandman was busted wide open but beat sabu, after the match sandman had sabu come back and offered him a beer due to the fact that he was man enough to beat him

overall a good show

notable no-shows raven, rhino, and the dudleys

it seemed like they would be coming back in the near future
